General IQ431 is a UV-curable white ink for HP 45si 1/2" cartridge systems, developed for high alcohol resistance, strong rub resistance, and use on non-porous substrates. It is designed as the successor to IQ131 and is suitable for applications where durable white coding, marking, or variable data printing is required.

This ink is aimed at industrial marking workflows across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, electronics, packaging, and product identification. Its white colour makes it useful for printing onto darker, transparent, or coloured materials where standard black inks may not provide enough contrast.

Printer Compatibility:

IQ431 is supplied in an HP 45si 1/2" cartridge format for compatible thermal inkjet coding and marking systems. UV-LED curing is required for adhesion on non-porous substrates, with recommended curing conditions of 385nm UV light at 8W or higher, positioned approximately 2mm from the media, with exposure 2–5 seconds after printing.

Handling and Storage:

Before use, shake the clipped cartridge for around 30 seconds with the printhead facing down, then gently wipe the printhead with a dry lint-free cloth. After use, seal the printhead with the original cartridge clip and store the cartridge with the printhead facing upwards.

Keeping the cartridge in a light-proof package is recommended to help reduce the risk of clogging. Users should always refer to the SDS before handling and carry out print testing under real production conditions, as curing performance and adhesion can vary depending on the material and setup.
